Licenced ERC Class A Energy Auditor

Managing Director

Mark is an Energy Efficiency and Power Generation expert with over 25 years’ experience designing and delivering energy efficiency project solutions as well as designing and installing power generation plants internationally. Mark has extensive experience in Energy Performance Contracting and Energy Efficiency Projects; having worked for global leaders like Johnson Controls, Honeywell and Caterpillar. Mark is a licensed 1st Class Power Engineer in Canada, Certified Energy Manager (CEM) and Certified Measurement and Verification Professional (CMVP) with the Association of Energy Engineers in Atlanta (AEE) and a LEED Accredited Professional with the US Green Building Council. Mark is also a Licensed Class A Energy Auditor in Kenya.

Operations Manager / Senior Energy Engineer

Isaac is a Mechanical Engineer with broad experience in energy audits and design of energy systems. He has done more than 35 energy audits including steel industries, plastic industries, flower farms, hotels, schools, commercial buildings and office buildings. Isaac has implemented several energy projects including real time energy monitoring for a five star hotel, installation of automatic voltage regulator for flower farms and testing and inspection of energy systems.

He is also exceptional in design and installation of energy systems. His Postgraduate research in Solar thermal scooped an Energy Management Award 2015 from the Kenya Association of Manufacturers (KAM). Previously, he worked for Numerical Machining Complex, Intertek Testing Services and Department of Energy Engineering, Kenyatta University.

Company Secretary / Business Manager

Joyce holds a Bachelor of environmental science degree from Kenyatta University. She is a Certified Accountant (ICPAK) and a diploma holder in Information technology currently pursuing her Masters of Science in Project Management. Prior to joining NegaWatt Ltd, she worked for NEMA and Nairobi City Council to bring about sustainability in the environment. Currently she is an accountant playing accountancy and business consultancy roles.

She also works as a project manager at Garden City and Thika Road Mall building management systems. She brings along unequaled organizational and analytical skills that enable her deliver quality results.

Products Manager / Senior Energy Engineer

Brian is a Mechanical Engineer with a background in power plant engineering and renewable energy technologies. He has delivered over 30 energy audits across agriculture, plastics, steel and flower processing plants. He has worked as an Industrial Process Technologist in agro-processing industries handling the production, processing, maintenance and co­generation of waste biomass/bagass.

Brian also worked on the standard operation and procedures of refrigeration, compressed air and boiler systems of a cheese factory as well as carrying out feasibility studies (wind and solar) for 18 base transmission station and hybridization program funded by EEP/KPMG. He is well conversant with renewable energy modelling software such as SUNNY 3D, HOMER and PVsyst. He is effective in project delivery having managed installation and commissioning of stabilizers in a various facilities.

Business Development Manager

Jonny holds the position of Business Development Manager for NegaWatt. His expertise and experience in Sales and Marketing brings a different energy to the team. Day to day operations include Managing Accounts and overseeing most activities regarding the expansion and growth of NegaWatt across East Africa. Whether it be preparing technical and financial proposals, leading in sales calls and meetings, designing and managing websites and social media outlets, or working with engineers, Jonny is described as a quick learning and solution oriented individual who shows how the job can be done quickly and efficiently but also with care and dedication.

Sales and Marketing Director – NegaWatt Uganda Limited

Jovia is an Energy Engineer with a master’s degree in Renewable Energy Technology from Kenyatta University in Nairobi. She has a Chemical Engineering background with broad experience in energy and water conservation, energy management systems with a certificate in electricity generation from renewable energy sources. She is also an established renewable energy researcher with extensive knowledge in Sustainable Energy analysis tools like MAED, MCDA and LEAP. Previously, she was a member of staff in the Engineering Faculty at Ndejje University and she has worked on various energy efficiency and renewable energy related projects in various industries, under the University Energy and Water Research Centre and UNDP Climate Change Mitigation Program in Uganda. She brings along unequaled professional, organizational and analytical skills that enables her deliver quality results.

Automation Manager / Senior Energy Engineer

Daniel is an electrical engineer with keen interest to providing cutting edge solutions in the energy field spanning across Automation/Controls, Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy integration. He has practical experience with intelligent, world-class technology systems in commercial buildings providing smart metering, HVAC, lighting, security and protection solutions using a variety of products including Tridium, Alerton and Johnson Controls products. He is instrumental in providing direct and indirect support to automation engineers, sales teams and customers and ensuring quality service delivery throughout the project delivery cycles. He holds a BSc. Electrical & Electronic Engineering from the University of Nairobi and is a Certified Energy Manager (CEM) with the Association of Energy Engineers in Atlanta (AEE).He is also a Licensed Solar PV technician (Class T3) under the Energy Regulatory Commission (ERC).

emmanuelEmmanuel Kimanchas, CEM, EBK, BSc. Electrical & Electronic Engineering

Electrical Projects Manager / Senior Energy Engineer

Emmanuel is Bachelor of Science graduate in Electrical and Electronic Engineering. He is technically curious, autonomous and has always been eager to learn and implement engineering projects. He likes working with his hands, he enjoys building engineering models and loves the experience of being an electrical engineer. He designs, analyses designs, installs and commissions all our electrical engineering projects.

In terms of experience; he has delivered 30 plus energy audits across several industries, he is responsible for Building Automation System (BAS) network architecture design and implementation. In on-going projects he sizes, designs, installs and commissions AVR’s, electrical boards and motor control panels. He is registered as an electrician with ERC, he is also registered as graduate engineer by Engineers Board of Kenya (EBK) and he recently successfully completed Certified Energy Manager (CEM) training and examinations offered by Association of Energy Engineers (AEE).

Utilities Manager / Senior Energy Engineer

Elizabeth is a Mechanical Engineer with experience in the industrial environment as well as energy audits and energy related task assessments. She has gained wide experience in conducting energy audits across various industries in addition to flower and tea farms. She has been involved in various BAS projects including Thika Road Mall and The Oval Building in Nairobi, Garden City Mall, and The Hub in Karen.  She is involved in preparing and managing automated utility management systems and also taking lead in managing the facilities utility billing.

She is a registered graduate engineer with Engineers Board of Kenya (EBK). Previously she worked as a product development fellow where she was involved majorly in research and optimization to improve manufacturing and distribution efficiency. She brings along analytical skills that enable her deliver quality timely and professional results.
